Zopp

Formed in 2010 by Nottingham-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Stevenson, Zopp is an independent British music project that bridges fuzzed-out Canterbury prog, psychedelic rock, and jazz fusion.Driven by intricate organ work, Mellotrons, vintage synths, and complex time signatures, Zopp draws inspiration from giants like Soft Machine, Egg, National Health, Frank Zappa, and Igor Stravinsky. What began as a solo studio obsession has expanded into a acclaimed creative force, frequently collaborating with standout musicians including drummer Andrea Moneta (Leviathan), Andy Tillison (The Tangent), Theo Travis (Soft Machine) and Jorgen Munkeby (Shining NOR).Following the underground success of their self-titled 2020 debut, Zopp released Dominion (2023) via Flat Circle Records, which was named "Favourite Album of 2023" by King Crimson biographer and Prog Magazine writer Sid Smith.Today, Zopp operates both as a studio laboratory and a live performing ensemble. Their anticipated third studio album, Bizarro, arrives in February 2027 via Flat Circle Records.
